Drug Uses New
Cialis (Lilly brand) is used to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. It increases the body`s ability to achieve and maintain an erection during sexual stimulation.

How Taken
Cialis comes in tablets to take in orally. The general dosage is 20mg a day, taken once a day about 30 minutes before sexual activity. However, sometimes a lower dose is needed, due to other treatment or medical condition of the man. Follow your doctor`s prescriptions carefully. Do not exceed the prescribed dose.

Warnings/Precautions
If Cialis is taken together with certain medicines, such as nitrates and alpha–blockers, and recreational drugs that contain nitrates called "poppers", it may cause your blood pressure to drop suddenly to an unsafe level. This may make you dizzy, lose conscious, and have a heart attack or a stroke. Do not take Cialis if you are undergoing treatment with medicines that contain nitrates or nitric oxide, if you have uncontrolled blood pressure (high or low) or if you have a history of stroke or heart attack. Cialis should not be taken by patients with lactose intolerance, as this drug contains lactose. Avoid drinking grapefruit juice, while taking Cialis. This combination may cause unpleasant side effects. Be careful when driving or operating heavy machinery until you know how Cialis affects you.

Missed Dose
Cialis is used as needed, so you are not likely to miss a dose. However, do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.

Possible Side Effects
Some of the possible side effects are– headache, indigestion, back pain, muscle aches, flushing, and stuffy or runny nose. If these side effects do not go away after e few hours, contact your doctor. Patients who get back pain and muscle aches generally get it 12 to 24 hours after taking Cialis. These side effects usually do away within 48 hours. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects are persistent or especially bothersome.

Storage
Store this medication at room temperature 15–30°C (59–86°F). Keep away from children and excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom).

Overdose
Is overdose is suspected seek medical attention immediately.

More Information
You doctor may lower or increase your dose, depending on how you react to Cialis. You should not change your dose of Cialis without consulting with your doctor. Avoid drinking alcohol in large amounts (e.g. 5 glasses of wine or 5 shots of whiskey). Alcohol may increase your risk of getting a headache, getting dizzy, raising your heart rate or lowering your blood pressure.
